There’s Too Much In The Plan
When Steve Jobs took over Apple after his time away, he made a myriad of changes. In one of his planning meetings, he brought all the executives together and had them list the projects they were working on. By the time the list was compiled, there were dozens of projects on the board. Jobs looked at the list, crossed off all but three. He knew the success of the failing company was dependent upon focusing on a few things and crushing them. What had been happening to Apple was a lack of focus on what mattered to the customers. The company was focusing on too many things and doing them just OK. Is this your story? Are you burning with desire on three things, or trying to fix 30?
