Is This the Beginning?

When I began this series, it was like revisiting an old friend. I have been studying these concepts for 25 years. I have shared them when appropriate, lived them as best I can, and pondered one thought. Why is this not widely known and used? There are two reasons. It’s not glitzy; it’s scientific and perceived as dry. And it takes work. There is no magic here; it’s just challenging work. I need to examine where I am daily. I need to be as diligent with this as a person with an addiction is with their drug. No celebrity or man with sparkling teeth endorses this, just learned women and men in academia. Independent of this, it works. Now, on to the last piece.

The last piece is that of achievement. Let’s break that down into two types. I refer to them as external and internal. Externally, I’m trying to find my next professional calling. What will my next thing be after being in leadership for 50 years? I’ve found I could do better. So, 50% is starving for a win, an achievement! This has driven home how vital my professional life is. And having zero wins there could be better. So, I strive daily.

My internal goal is to stay in an exercise routine. I am writing each day after studying. And staying spiritually grounded. I’m doing well here but still need the other 50%!

How about you? How are your wins? How can you increase them?

How about these:

  • I am laying out some SMART goals, personally and professionally.
  • Reflect on those goals that you’ve had and relive that…

I began Over the Wall Coaching, not asking if I’d be successful, but rather how many people could I help achieve their dreams.
